ABout our Founder

Victoria Wascher, M.A., CCC-SLP is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and founder of Chatterbox Speech Therapy. She received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2011 and her Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Speech-Language Pathology from Washington State University in 2013. Victoria holds Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and a speech language pathology California state license. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA).

She specializes in early language development, supporting language skills and social skills in autistic children, and working with children who have childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). Victoria emphasizes parent coaching throughout sessions to facilitate carryover of learned skills. 

 

As a three-time recipient of ASHA's Award for Continuing Education (ACE Award- 2018, 2020, & 2023) in recognition of continued professional study, Victoria is passionate about advancing her skills and knowledge to better support the children she works. She has competed the following trainings and certifications: 

  • Certifications in It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words from the world renowned Hanen Center to support young children with language delays and social language delays respectively.

  • Completion of the internationally acclaimed Sensory Certification Course to improve sessions with children who have sensory differences and benefit from sensory regulation methods.

  • Certification in Gestalt Language Processing and Natural Language Acquisition Framework to support children who communicate using delayed echolalia (scripts)

  • Completion of the Social Thinking Methodology training to help children boost social awareness, social thinking, and self-regulation strategies.

  • Completion of Graham Speech Therapy, LLC: Lateral Lisp Remediation Course to eliminate lateral distortions and elicit correct production of speech sounds.​

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and riding bikes along the coast!
